Letter to Vodafone Customer Care

So I just had... a 50 min call with Vodafone executive... The tickets which I raised... refunds which I was promised.. are not yet done...

The executive understood it.. but unable to answer why it is not done....

To my surprise.. one of the tickets has been passed and commented that the deposit has been done... It never showed up in my bill and in my bank account...

Such is the service.

To Provide better service, first you need to take care that no issues are raised from telecom provider. The lesser the issues the lesser would be complaints lesser the load better the service... lesser the frustration... happier the customer... simple funda...

I am not a trainer or customer care employee... but even a small kid says how to improve customer care service.. just waste of money and time to pay the salaries of customer support if you are good at it.

Funda Apart.... Last 3 months I keep on paying bill... which I am supposed not to... This month again I got a fat bill.... a fat reimbursements which cover entire bill are dormant....

Ethically I should be paying the difference between payments and receipts.... But you ask to pay first and receive next...

I don't see receipts coming... given that I have been hanging there.. for 3 months...

and one more thing... whenever I make a call to customer care... I had to pay the call charges... why don't you have a toll free?

For fellow customers:
1) don't activate International roaming online when you are out of the country.
2) Except monthly, don't pay any bills on Vodafone Online. It looks green but most of it Red.
3) They are charging for downloads even if you have the internet package. this downloads like hellotv, ndtvpack... are fraudulent.... I don't know where they are coming from neither do the executives I talk to. They eat a major chunk of your bill.
4) Never email customer care. you will never get any response.
5) 48 hours service is a big fraud run by telecom services.

For Vodafone :
1) Please check if your security is breached or the fraud is being done by you - on hellotv, ndtv, wapzilla packs. No one need it.. and no one can see it in their mobiles... they just appear on the bill
2) Improve your service... make sure reimbursements are done in current month.... not months later... money is more important for the guy who pays... For the customer care executive, they get their monthly salary... profit or loss its to Vodafone... just keep that in mind and work for the customer instead of Vodafone
3) Be Responsive and Responsible. Customer care has to work for Customer not vice versa. Most of the times. It looks like we need to follow up everyday.
4) Have a toll free number... we cant pay every time we call you. most of the times... the calls take around 40 to 50 mins. and another shocking thing.. to get connected to customer care executive.. the minimum time it takes to reach him is 4 to 5 mins.

Musings of an Old Man - Part 1

I sat beside a Old man who is in 70's, while traveling to Nandyal along with my mother and grand mother.

I always ask my grand mother(aged 90 + current) what it is her life like in Pre independent India.

She never answered. For the fact, she does not know Gandhi too!

So, I got a chance finally to interact with an old man from our Region - Rayalaseema.

Rayalaseema is famous for Faction-ism but what about Independence?

His Story goes this way :

Rayalaseema is called Ceded Region as it ceded to British by Nizam emperor. Nizam was so clever and fooled British by giving off  Un-fertile region for British services. There used to be only one collector and a few employees form British and they were afraid of Palegars who were brutal. British used to have a small army and mostly Indians from the same region. These employees fear Palegars more than British and used to ran away if they were asked to fight Palegars.

British as such has less impact in this region. Factors were many.

Under Palegars, there was no fixity in terms of Landholdings or Taxation of the meager produce they get. It was tough.

When I was born in 1940. I used to hear stories from my grand ma and grand pa about palegars. when I was growing up, It was more about factionism and killing each other to satiate the Ego factor.

Own brothers used to kill each other to show the entire region who is supreme. Its all about power and things to satisfy their Ego!!!

There were good people who wanted to improve literacy among people and worked hard towards equity. Even those people were not spared as they were getting good name for the deeds they used to do.

Regarding British, by the time I was 7, I used to listen regarding independence struggle in a radio arranged by my Uncle at the Village center. But we ourselves did not know how independence tastes like. For us, independence was to get good crop.

Some Villages promoted harmony. In the sense, They were no factionists, no politicians but some good people who used to take care of villages.

Only a few people had factionists. Most of those villages had less fertile land.

Where the land was fertile, people used to concentrate on land tilling rather than Man Killing.

Good or Bad... It is used to exist in patches... In this world.. we are no one to judge.. But we are some one to live on this world... that life was in danger for most of time in Rayalaseema in pre and post independence. Mostly fueled by Palegars, Factionists and currently politicians.

I love our region as it is my place of birth... so never encourage someone to control of our land, our water, our culture and ourselves.

Who call the shots in Rayalaseema?

Bomb culture and faction feuds are not new to Rayalaseema region and it dates back to Vijayanagar empire.

Local chieftains, who were designated as `Palegaru' were indirectly responsible for the rise and fall of Vijayanagar empire. History is repeating now with factionists reaching a stage of dictating governments and causing their fall in the region.

The Vijayanagar rulers who did not want to interfere in local affairs allowed Palegars to rule with limited autonomy who had powers to collect revenue, maintain a small army and punish the guilty. A total of 200 power centers emerged during their reign. But Palegars refused to come to the rescue of the empire which was at the receiving end in Tallikota battle in 1565 AD and caused the downfall of the great southern empire.

After Rayalaseema districts came under the British rule as ceded districts, Palegars refused to share the revenue with the British. The Collector of the ceded district, Thomas Monroe, took a serious view of the rebellion and ordered the capture of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, Palegar of Koikuntla. He was hanged to death in public. However, after the incident, the British did not hunt Palegars, who were around 80 in the region. They just tried to be away from Palegars.

In the pre-independent days, Palegars conducted private courts and were a law unto themselves.

Palegars vanished after the independence, but the culture survived in the form of factionists. Factionists fought among themselves for supremacy over villages. Before the seventies, the factionists were considered unwise and stupid who fought for supremacy risking their lives and property.

The common man led a miserable life in faction villages where human rights were seriously violated. The weak presence of Government authority in troubled villages is the main strength of the faction leaders.

Bomb culture came into existence in the early eighties when bomb manufacturing emerged a cottage industry. During the time, the factionists made an entry to politics and political parties, too, vied for their support. Now, leaders with faction background are everything for political parties without their help the parties cannot fight elections and even if they try, they do not stand a chance.

Leaders from Faction background used to kill each other for supremacy. They seek protection under government representatives who can not win elections without support from factionists. Factionists used violence as a weapon to get votes in the elections.

Though factionism is slowly vanishing, but it flows in Rayalaseema and in every artery of Rayalaseema Bidda :)

Marriage Institution!! - Chit Chat with a friend.

Me : Hahaha, Marriage is a different dimension. Color takkuva unte Katnam ekkuva ivalsi vasthundi. Color ekkuva unte anumanam ekkuva.

Friend : Chudu Ammayilaku enni problems untayo

Me : Abbai aithe... color unte katnam ekuva... takkuvaither baga earn cheyali... Marriage is a big institution.

Friend : Ammayi aithe complexion, beauty, family background, property plays a big role... anni unna... katnam ivvalsi vasthundi

Me : Manchi chedu chudaru.. I mean pelli chesukune valladi.. Atu yedu and itu yedu antaru kani.. current taram tastes chudaru... Indian Marriage ia complex thing.. Where a few couples behave like friends :)

Friend : Yeah right. Its still a big question! Will ask Dad.. But you know... Time Ravali!

Me : Its a competition. Pakkanna 25 lakhs katnamante... ma vadu vadi kanna better.. we should ask more... ila relative ga chusukuntu pelli sambandalu chusukuntunnaru! Thanks next article ku idea ichav...

This is just a small chit chat regarding Indian Marriage institution. As said, Indian Marriage is complex thing. Many things factor in, when parents look for prospects!!

But you need to step up for your marriage.. you cant just marry someone whom your parents ask you too!

Mukunda - The Movie Review

Varun Tej Resembles Daggubati Rana. Rana got a good start though Leader. Did Varun Tej get? I don't think so.

StoryLine :

A young stud stands up against Municipal Chairman for repeatedly attempting to warn/kill his best friend.Did he win? Did he lose?

MainStory :
As a Tollywood hero, you are meant to win the race! It just that how you win the race is the story of the movie.

Arjun - Mukunda are 2 best friends. Arjun loves daughter of Chairman's brother. Chairman's son knows about this and attacks Arjun. Mukunda Saves him and warns the goons to never ever touch his friend Arjun or they will face his wrath.

Arjun is seen with his lover, fights ensue with Mukunda showing his muscle power. Then and there you will be seeing Prakash Raj reciting dialogues which are actually very good. 'Loving India, Democratic India, Romatic India, Fighting India' - Some of the themes of the dialogue!

After interval Elections are scheduled to happen. Mukunda wants to show Chairman that people may flash that they like you but it is not entirely true!. Mukunda selects Prakash Raj as the candidate and ever changing pricey Onions as election symbol. Another significance of Onions is his father is a Onion trader.

Onion wins the election and chairman to avenge his defeat - tries to marry off his brother's daughter and chairman's son tries to kill Arjun. In both incidents, as you know - Mukunda turns the tide.

Plot&Movie Review :

The plot is usual. All through the movie, surprisingly Hero and heroine never talk to each. By the way, Heroine is chairman's daughter and Mukunda taunts chairman by speaking out 'Your daughter is very beautiful'. The movie is good in patches. Scenes involving Mukunda and Rao Ramesh are very good. Rao Ramesh using science in politics is kind of eccentric to what we see in the movies. Scenes involving Prakash Raj are good too. Those dialogues are well written. Mukunda did not have many emotions to show. One serious face all through the movie. Bad for him. His next film will again look like a debutant film.

What the movie misses terribly is - Comedy, bad editing, poor screenplay and usual story. Directors when they are going to direct a newcomer. They may not be knowing the actor completely. So it is good time to experiment. And new comers too, irrespective of the image movie is going to give them, they have to try something new. Its my view.

Technical :

I somehow did not feel the movie is rich in color. Even the camera looks hazy, it did not capture the moments properly. You can see the noise in the movie. Movie is poorly edited, probably less time to edit as it was scheduled to be released as Sankranthi release.

Director Addala, owner of the story, dailogues and screenplay, did his worst job in all the 3 films till now. I usual wait to hear the final dialogue of the director at the end of the movie, this time I was not interested at all.

Movie Fact : After watching the movie, I cant say it is one time watch.

These things you usually hear daily. If you are not, then you are not living in a patriarchal society or Family.

These are the words you hear before Violence. Violence at Home! Home may be of well educated and well uneducated but neither the words change nor the behavior.

Why do you think Sexual Harassment cases are peaking? Sorry, My Bad, Cases are not peaking but the number of such incidents out in open are increasing.

Many women are coming out of the "cocoon of taking up pain". Why should they be silent? Why were they silent all these days?

Why were they silent all these days? I don't know. I guess, it might be due to their physical weakness. It might be. May be the pressure inserted by Family. But Why do you think they are physical weak? They are the ones who do all the chores everyday. They should be strong enough to do some kick-ass stuff!

Physical weakness does not look like a reason. But why do women are victims in most of the sexual harassment cases?

For every 10 men in India, almost 8 women are educated. If every educated men are not resorting to such kind of violence, there should not be any such cases. But there are. Why do the incidents still happen? Education can not be a scale to check Sexual Abuse - violence.

In every street, you see a gang - rowdy gang - a gang of useless male predators. Why aren't such female gang? Even if they exist like Gulabi Gang, People make films and mock at it.

Once one Prabudda told me the reason behind Sexual Abuse. He said, "The main reason behind this violence is not the sexual urge at the moment but the pride of being man leading to a thought that I am stronger than any woman and I can do what I want!" Sounds kind of true.

In Country like India, People say Everything happens for a reason.... And Everyone reasons everything... Finally leading to no concrete answer!

Just in case if you ever had something bad happening to you.. remember ... "To be silent is not being strong!"
