Amish Tripati's book 2 of the shiva trilogy "The secrets of Naga" is super fictional, wonderfully knitted and fabulous read. It took me 3 sittings of each 3 hrs to complete the book in two days. Fight with Naga in the forest to finding Brahaspathi in Panchavati, the journey has been quite a learning one. Though the theme of the trilogy is to find the existence of Good and evil in the world, it diversifies into simple fundamentals of way of life. It is not only the journey of Shiva to find the evil, It will be our own to understand why we act capriciously sometimes and why steadily other-times. The book clearly shows us the path of enlightenment on how to discover the evil within us and do good for ablution of our sins in this given birth. I liked the repeating phrase "Good and evil are opposite sides of a same coin."
The character of Lord Shiva is perfectly etched to say why he stands out. Shiva always tried to find answers and when he found out, he changed his perception about someone or something and cleared his mind to find solutions. His life all through the book inspires a life.
According to Hindu myth, Shiva is the Supreme god and has five important works: creator, preserver, destroyer, concealer, and revealer. This indistinguishably says that we should lead our life in benevolent as well as fearsome forms.
The book is an eye-opener for me... Hope it will do the same to you too.. enjoy the read...
